This group is tasked with reviewing the submissions of nominations and selecting a slate of candidates for the association's board of directors.
Includes Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Belen
Works with the association's lobbyist and staff to monitor, amend, initiate or oppose council or legislative action, regulatory rulings and other activity at local, state or national level.
Developing programming and selecting speakers for the conference is the primary focus of this committee. They also develop pre and post trip opportunities, social events and entertainment.
This committee reviews submissions of those nominated for the Tourism Hall of Fame and chooses who will be inducted. The Hall of Fame dinner is in the Spring and part of the Governor's Conference on Hospitality and Tourism.
Attracting new members and supporting member retention is the primary focus of the membership development committee.
Board members serve for three year terms and are able to serve up to two consecutive terms.
Tourism Commissioners are appointed by the Governor to provide council on the New Mexico Tourism Department's policies and programs, as well as, approve its 5 year marketing plan. http://www.governor.state.nm.us/Tourism_Commission.aspx
